David's Story
David W. Lee is an airline Captain with more than three decades of experience across multiple sectors of the aviation industry.
His aviation career began in international airline service as a Flight Attendant and later Purser, operating long-haul routes across six continents for a major global airline. He later transitioned to the flight deck and built a flying career across corporate aviation, ACMI operations, and regional airlines.
As a pilot, David has operated throughout North America, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America. He holds FAA and EASA Airline Transport Pilot licenses and has worked within multiple regulatory environments, including FAA, EASA, and UK Overseas Territories frameworks.
In addition to line flying, David served as an EASA-qualified Embraer 170/190 Type Rating Instructor in Europe, providing both simulator and classroom instruction to pilots from regional and mainline carriers.
Throughout his airline career David was active in pilot union work through both the Teamsters Airline Division and the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), serving in roles including Pilot Mentor, Go-Team participant, Safety Committee, Professional Standards Counselor, FOQA Gatekeeper, LOSA Observer, and later as a member of a Negotiating Committee.
Following the loss of his aviation medical certificate, David chose to channel his extensive mentoring and counseling experience into a new professional direction. After completing formal coaching training in the European Union, he founded Stabilized Approach Group to support pilots navigating high-pressure moments in their careers — from training setbacks and upgrades to conflict, loss of confidence, and major career transitions.
